Food is tasty but for the price I would have liked some more vegetables or salad on the plate of the mains. Dishes are all touched by fire which gives everything a smokey flavour. But I question why does everything need to be cooked over flame?The smoke flavour can overpower the taste of the actual food. Service is excellent. Ambience is nice.
Dined here earlier this year in February for the dry aged steak experience for 2. It was excellent!!. Nice ambience, very relaxed atmosphere (could have been the wine 😉). Great wine recommendation from staff- it paired well with the meal. Bought a bottle of the Shiraz & Moscato to take away. Steak & sides were delicious, very well seasoned and so enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.
Awesome ambience that is matched by some excellent food and wines. Really loved the service here. Food didn't take too long to come out and the portions for perfect in size.
I would suggest they make available cocktails on the drinks list for non wine drinkers. Otherwise, it's a great venue that we will happily return to.
Chris at City Winery helped us organise an event for 130 people. He was meticulous in his preparations; thoughtful in his recommendations; and went above and beyond both in the lead up and during the event. On the day his biggest concern was whether we were relaxed and having fun. The staff took care of all the details and allowed us to completely enjoy our night. We had two venue managers throughout the night who were very attentive, from ensuring we both ate to handling the sound systems, prepping the photographer to the bump in and out of the vendors, they handled it all. If you’re planning an event in Brisbane, City Winery should absolutely be your first choice. I can’t fault them. Bravo to the team!
My partner and I went here over the weekend and this was the best part of the trip. Our waitress was amazing and helped talk us through everything, and asked us what type of wine we enjoyed and gave us wines we very much enjoyed (ones we wouldn't even think to try!). We did their wine tasting and 2 course meal. There was a perfect level of engagement by our waitress given that there was a large party there at the same time. The environment was brilliant, and the ambiance was perfect. The music was just right and the decor made the experience feel comfortable.
My partner surprised me for our anniversary with lunch and a wine tasting here and I'm so glad he did. The venue is small but beautiful, well decorated and I loved the barrel lined wall. Our waitress was knowledgeable and we enjoyed each wine that we tasted. The food was great (although I'm a bit biased as I love charcuterie.) A very small issue we had was that the potatoes on the side were very oily and over salted but this was incredibly minor compared to how amazing everything else was. We will definitely be coming back.

It was tidy and clean.
We did not go away hungry. There was so much food, we couldn't even fit in dessert.
There is a large folder also for wines and beers.
I truly recommend trying this restaurant, you won't be disappointed.
